Top 10 things I can't wait to do/have on our visit to the maritimes

We're gearing up for our first trip home since we moved out west and I have been making a list of things I've missed from home...cannot wait.

1. Visit family and friends of course

2. See the bay: oh coast how I've missed you

3. Go on a boat: yes at this point even the ferries count.

4. Go to the market: what a beautiful place

5. Smell the bay: it's a coastal thing

6. Pizza Delight: delicious, haven't seen one since January 2008
7. Peanut Butter Fudge Crunch: A delectable peanut butter ice cream with thick rich fudge sauce and graham cracker crunch pieces.
8. Great Canadian Bagels: chocolate chip, maple and cheddar & swiss in particular.
9. Reduced Fat Cheez-its: a cross border trip is in order for these.

10. Go shopping

22 week Belly photo

Forgot about my 22 week bump photo.

So far I love being pregnant, maybe it's just the stage I'm at or the experiences I've had this past year but I am so very much enjoying having this little person tapping from the inside and accompanying me wherever I go. Of course I can't wait to meet him or her but for now I just love this!

What I'm looking forward to: our ultrasound in less than 2 weeks

I have been feeling movement for about 2 weeks now but last night Nat put his hand on my belly when i got into bed and nothing happened for a minute or two then the biggest kick/punch I have felt so far smacked his hand. I jumped and squealed thinking it might have been him poking from the outside, Nat thought it was me flinching but no it was our son or daughter letting daddy know that they are a-okay.

Here's a belly pic Nat took today while he was home for lunch. I'm finally feeling more pregnant than chubby which is such a nice feeling.

Nursery beginnings

Now before you get the idea that Nat and I are very organized and getting the nursery put together very early I want to tell you that I am the type of person who shops for Christmas gifts all year round. I see something someone will like and I buy it. This is how we ended up with our crib set and crib already. Both on sale :)

The crib is set up so that it didn't get scratched leaning against the wall but it's pretty odd to glance in the sewing room on my way down the hall and do a double take seeing the large white ark in the room.

17 weeks tomorrow!

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

Neat-o! Also we got our crib this past week, we just walked in, it was on sale and we both immediately liked it so it's here! We put it together today and are rearranging the nursery to fit everything in. I need to get rid of a lot of junk yikes!

1 year move-iversary

I can hardly believe that one year ago today we finished our final day of driving and arrived in our new little city 8 days after leaving all of our friends and family to move to the other side of the country.

We saw so much and though we were sad to be leaving home we were excited to see what God had in store for us.

We've made great friends and have a wonderful church family in our new community and I'm looking forward to many more years here. Well maybe not many because it would be nice to be a few thousand miles closer to home...
