12 weeks over!

I went to visit Nat last weekend and it was great! I miss him so much! We did some travelling since we had a rental car so we thought we would explore the prairies a bit.

We headed to Qu'Appelle Valley and realized after a slight detour to the very tiny tiny town of Qu'Appelle that Fort Qu'Appelle is actually in the Qu'Appelle Valley and not Qu'Appelle.

Ah well what are Sunday afternoon drives for anyway?

It was strange to see the valley it looked like part of the fields just sunk.

While there we stopped for a drink and we decided to test 2 rootbeers, I think the jury is still out. We also found a Seven Eleven which is strangely one of my favourite stores, maybe because it reminds me of trips to Florida but I LOVE their Slurpees!! So we had some of those too. We enjoyed yummy food, we even found a Pita Pit!!! Delicious!

Two days is just not long enough but we had fun and I am heading back out in a few weeks, thank you Jesus for Mom and her airmiles!!

update

So, lots has happened since I last posted. Nat has been away for 11 weeks now and I am going to visit him next weekend, I am waaay beyond excited!

Alright recap: I went to New Hampshire 3 times this summer, to the same area, same campground twice. The White Mountains are beautiful I highly recommend it!

We also went to PEI which was very exciting since I had never seen the bridge before, my memories of PEI were a bit jaded since the last time I was there I ended up throwing up on the boat and in the Champlain Mall food court, good times. I am happy to say that the bridge did not make me sea-sick.

My Bug is up and running thanks to my uncle and I am having a blast driving it around at home. My sister is a little frightened of the shall we say "authenticity" of the antique car but she has been doing well as a passenger although I almost lost her when the gear shift knob popped off in my hand between 2nd and 3rd gear, priceless!

Well, I have just finished midterm number one of my elementary education degree and I think I am going to go relax and read in the beautiful sunshine as Ruby wheezes beside me.

interesting video

This video really made me think about the world we live in, God really uses people in amazing ways!

1st Anniversary Weekend

Wow where did the last year go?? My wonderful husband planned an overnight getaway in Fredericton to celebrate our first anniversary. We stayed at a bed & breakfast that was a new and great experience for both if us. Not to mention we had a really big canopy bed!
We enjoyed a lazy Saturday afternoon downtown followed by dinner and awoke the next morning to a gourmet breakfast of waffles for Nat and french toast for me. It was delicious but we soon had to pack and headed to "the green" to laze in the unusually warm sun for June 3.What a difference from our wedding day, perhaps we will be blessed with gorgeous weather for all of our anniversaries.

That evening back in Saint John we had yummy pizza and garlic fingers and retrieved our cake from its year long hibernation...Nat was just being dramatic for the camera, it actually tasted fine!!!

May flowers...and snow?!...

If April showers bring May flowers, then what do May showers bring? More importantly what does May snowfall bring?? Gotta love the maritimes where we go from +27 C one day to snowfall warnings for the next. Oh well it is almost summer then we willl hopefully be done with the snow for a while...
Also TEC is this weekend, Teens Encounter Christ it is going to be a GREAT weekend, I am excited! I have been trying lately to really readjust my focus to God and his greatness, He is so good if I just let Him have control and stop fretting over things that I don't have control over and that really don't matter that much in the grand scheme, oh goodness I have alot of work to do:)
I had better head to bed to rest up for work, I get to do presentations in a couple of high schools tomorrow, it will be a nice change from the office...

taking the exercise out of exercise?

So humans are generally lazy, this is true but laziness is just getting worse and worse and more expensive.
How about an electric bike "full power gets you there at 28km/h, without the workout." What makes this worse is these bikes cost about 500 bucks, yikes! Now I do aspire to drive a motorcycle and I drive a car but to me a bike ride should still be good old fashioned cardio pumping fun.
That's right folks, making Canada fatter one bike at a time.

another degree...

So I received my acceptance letter to UNB Fredericton for their BEd program. I am very excited, however I do still have an interview at the end of the month for ABU's program...praying my way through, trying to figure out where God wants me :)

Oh graduation day, I will see you again ...

March break vacation

So since January..we have been working and going to school steadily.

We were fortunate enough to go on a vacation for March break. We flew out to LA and made our way on our ship down the Mexican Riviera. Each port was unique and beautiful. In Puerto Vallarta we were greeted by a typical small Mexican looking town and a Walmart Supercenter??? yeah weird. We went on a pirate ship to a private island but our snorkeling adventure was thwarted by millions of stinging jellyfish who had decided to over run the water. The pirate ship was still a great experience and Nat thoroughly enjoyed the hearty lunch. Ah Mexico, hot sun, sandy beaches and CRAZY taxis! Oddly enough, though they are crazy drivers it doesn't seem quite as dangerous as at home since everyone on Mexican streets is aware that the car in front of or beside you could cut you off at any moment they are much less angry than drivers here who are unexpectedly cut off. I am not howevever suggesting that we begin driving like taxis tearing around in Mexico. The white building here is a night club, it was huge and overlooking the water, this is the only shot we have thanks to Nat's quick photo taking skills as we were speeding around in our open air taxi with our driver Abel.
We had one day in LA on our way home so we thought we would make the best of it and we went to Universal Studios for the day then on a night tour of the highlights of LA.
Here is Nat with Mickey Mouse's star on Hollywood Blvd.
This sign was on Sunset strip prohibiting cruising, if you are caught cruising (passing the same point 2 or more times in 4 hours) you are subject to citation!!
Wohoo Rodeo drive, unfortunately this was at night and everything was closed, we had a 10 minute stop in which most people didn't get off the tour bus but Nat and I ran up 3 blocks and back to see as much as we could!

Well Nat is waiting to hear from the RCMP he has finished all the steps and is patiently waiting. I am almost done the semester and I can't wait until finals are over!

a bomb in our living room?

So even though Christmas was over long ago, our Christmas tree was still standing until today, getting drier and drier. We have been working at un-decorating it but our hectic schedules haven't allowed us to totally get rid of it until today. I have never seen a tree drier or so droopy. "One fire official likened a dry Christmas tree to a "bomb" in one's home." So the bomb in our living room has been disarmed! p.s. it is much harder to find the ornaments when the limbs have begun to curl downwards, almost as if it wishes to take the ornaments with it...kinda creepy

Christmas and onward

December was a crazy month.

Christmas was wonderful! We were able to enjoy the Nativity production put on by Glad Tidings Church that Micah and Katie were a part of. It was great to be reminded of the real importance of the Christmas season and to see all the hard work the living mannequins, actors, dancers, singers and real animals put in to make the production awesome and so full of truth.

Christmas approached quickly and we were able to spend some time with both of our families which was great even though Nat worked Christmas day. Besides awaking with something Norwalk-like at 3 am Christmas morning, Christmas was great, full of good food and quality time with family and friends.

Brad and Jenn's wedding was on the 28th so we spent the 27th getting ready for the big day and rehearsing. The wedding was wonderful and the day went well aside from her dog attacking my purse, biting my wallet and eating half my gift certificate from Nat. Aww Bedford, he’s a good dog. Maid or should I say Matron (yikes) of honour duties were definitely complicated by my raging head cold but with the help of many many tissues and cough drops I made it and it was such a happy day!

Ben and Johanie came home for Christmas and we had a wedding shower for them since they are getting married in July, we also were able to skate with the Peterson crew and the Morrells and Adamo. Good thing it was cold for at least part of the winter.

Then we had New year’s, which Nat worked, of course and Adam, Bronwyn and I watched a movie and raided mom’s fridge. It was really nice to spend some time with Adam over the holidays I miss you Adamo. Carolyn Hicks also came for a visit, it was so nice to see her even for such a short time!

Now we are back into January and school is back on and I am drowning in applications for an Education degree. Wow how time flies, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that God blesses you in this New year. Wow 2007, He is going to do BIG things!
