ahh the scents of Christmas: cinnamon, cloves and clean laundry

So exams are over, and I have a washing machine! Yeah Nat and mom surprised me with a brand new washing machine delivered right to my door.Nat was very handy and had it all hooked up and ready for me to do my first wash almost immediately!

Last weekend mom and I with the help of Andrew Phinney put up and decorated our Christmas tree that Nat chopped down. We tried to disguise its tumour and bare spots the best we could and soon it evolved into a beautiful work of art complete with a blue angel on top. I hope you all are enjoying this preparation time with friends and families.

want snow, got rain

Well most of the snow is gone thanks to all this rain and horrific wind. On the up side, rain reminds me of our wedding day. I wonder if we ever have a flood will I say to myself "aww this reminds me of our wedding day" not that my house flooded, but many did that weekend.

Ah what a beautiful weekend it was :)
But enough about rain, it is December and I would love to have snow mmm snow!

got snow?

We do! What a great day yesterday was: last day of classes, first snowfall, Nat had his polygraph for the RCMP and I had a final exam...okay so maybe the final wasn't so great. It finally feels like December now that there is snow, and we are getting a Christmas tree soon. I am going to enjoy these next few days of cleaning, baking and decorating. I love Advent!

Lord consume me from the inside out

I found this song by Hillsong, it really speaks of how Jesus can take our lives and all our imperfections and make them His, make them work for His will when we surrender it all to Him. He is a great God and every ounce of my being cries out in praise to Him, thank you Jesus for loving me even though I am only me.
Have a listen if you haven't already.

outdoor skating, just like the movies!!!

The new Quispamsis Arts and Culture park is beautifully lit up for Christmas. This park includes an outdoor skating rink with artificial ice!!! It is real ice but kept frozen with pipes even when it is above freezing!! awesome!!! I (Naomi) am very excited, in case you couldn't tell, to skate outdoors. We stopped by to see the lights the other night and as you can see in the picture this trip prompted Nat to dig out his winter coat, meanwhile I have had mine out for weeks now...

new apartment preview

I am sorry for the delay on pictures of the new apartment but the photo to the right displays where I have been spending most of my time doing assignments when I am not in class. So much time has been spent here that it has recently become my least favourite spot in our new apartment. With that said it IS a picture of part of our new abode. There are more to come, perhaps Nat will post some of his lovely organizational work with our furniture, he is a great unpacker I must say!

For instance this is what I came home to the other day, a living room, a real living room without boxes!!
I love my husband!

a visit from Roy G. Biv

God said in Genesis 9 : "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life."
What a beautiful sight to see and neat to think that years and years ago Noah looked to the sky and saw the same thing, mind you there probably wasn't an apartment building obstructing his view...

East Side Mario's? is that you?

We just wanted to share with you our "better than East Side Mario's supper." We had, Alfredo pasta sauce with mushrooms, onions, green pepper, and bacon on spaghetti. There was supposed to be some chicken but we forgot to put it in... it doesn't really matter anyway because it was STILL better than East Side Mario's. As an appetizer Naomi made prosciutto on French bread with feta cheese, balsamic vinegar, and HONEY! It was amazing. We would have made a dessert, to tell you about, but by the time we were done eating we couldn't really move very much... so there wasn't any dessert. Oh, and that bottle in the background, that's not wine. Naomi's mom supplied us with some leftover sparkling grape juice from Thanks giving.

P.S.- Just as a side note. Spell check wanted Naomi to have made prostitute on French bread, but we thought the prosciutto on French bread tasted a lot better.

early morning fog

Early in the morning as Nat is just getting home from work, before the sun has had a chance to rise completely, the fog rests comfotably in the valley just outside of our building. What a beautiful earth we live on made by such a creative God. Thank you Lord for giving us such a beautiful place to live, I can only imagine how wonderful heaven will be!

wedding and a haircut

Yesterday was the wonderful wedding of
John and Lynn.
It was a bright and sunny autumn day which happens to be my favourite kind and everyone looked great. The beautiful bride even surprised her groom by singing a beautiful song.

We were able to help serve the yummy turkey dinner at the reception along with some friends and my mom.

Who knew matching teacups and saucers could be this fun?

Nat and I even had the opportunity to practice our swing dancing before the night was over with my new shorter hair.
Thank you John and Lynn for allowing us to celebrate with you! It is so exciting to see God's plans being fulfilled for two people becoming one!

apartment prayer answered!

Praise the Lord!
We have been thinking about moving from our stuffy apartment for a few weeks now and praying profusely. Yesterday morning I put in our moving notice in faith that God would have something for us before we were homeless on November 1st. Well did He ever, just yesterday afternoon we happened to see an ad and went to look at what is going to be our new place! Thank you Jesus! and now guess what time it is...

our new blog with wedding pics to boot!

Well, here we are with a blog! I opened this account a little while ago but was afraid to post because I am unsure how it all works, but here I go!

Firstly, I will post some pictures from our wedding day June 3, 2006 for those of you who haven't seen pictures.

I am so excited to be married and to begin this new chapter in God's plan!

Here comes the bride and her beautiful mom... as the old rhyme says "married in blue, love ever true".
We even managed to get some pictures outside under some shelter, thank you Mr. Hilton.
The day before the wedding Nat and his brothers ran around buying any nice black umbrellas they could find in Saint John. I was still hoping that the weather man was mistaken, but they were functional and made for some unique pictures. My girls from Halifax, I miss them so much!

It was a beautiful wet day, and it was so nice to be surrounded by people we love as we worshiped God, He is so great and what a blessing being married is!
